A press conference was held to discuss the arrest of 18 people following a months-long investigation in what was the largest drug bust in Clay County history.
12.5 lbs. of Methamphetamine were confiscated in one evening. A final total of nearly 14 lbs. was found over the entire investigation. An additional five lbs. of Marijuana has been taken as well. The final value of all that was confiscated totals $206,000.
During the press conference, it was made apparent that those who worked through the investigation believed that the source of the methamphetamine came from Mexico in "super labs" where it is manufactured before being transported through the U.S. Highway System._
The departments involved include Clay & Vigo County Sheriff's, THPD, ISP, and the Department of Drug Enforcement.
