Voters will elect township trustees across Marshall County this year, with contested Republican primaries in two townships, while others feature unopposed candidates or vacant ballot spots.

Two townships will see competitive races in the May Republican primary: Polk Townshipn where incumbent Jerry Lamb faces a challenge from Tim Kazanecki for the Republican nomination, and in Tippecanoe Township, where incumbent Matt Pitney will square off against Keith McIntire in the Republican primary.

Six townships have Republican candidates running without primary opposition:

  • Center Township: Amy Knapp (R)
  • Bourbon Township: Ryan Shori (R)
  • West Township: Terry Borggren (R)
  • German Township: Phillip Meister (R)
  • Union Township: Bruck Snyder (R) and
  • Walnut Township: Stephen Wilhelm (R)

North Township features only one candidate on the primary ballot, Douglas Baney, running as a Democrat.

Green Township currently has no candidates from either party filed for the position.

Township trustees serve as the executive officers of their township, overseeing fire protection, emergency services, poor relief, and other local government functions. They also serve as members of their township's board, along with three elected advisory board members.

The primary election is scheduled for May 2026. The general election will take place in November 2026.
