City officials are inviting residents to help shape the future of Plymouth's northeast side at a public meeting next week as part of the Plymouth Forward 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

The open-house style meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Heartland Art Center, 214 N. Michigan Street. The session will focus on the Northeast Neighborhood Update, a key component of the city's long-range planning efforts.

The study area is generally bounded by U.S. 30, U.S. 31, CSX Rail, and Michigan Street.

Unlike traditional public meetings with formal presentations, this event will feature interactive boards and engagement stations where participants can share feedback, identify priorities, and suggest ideas for neighborhood improvements and investment.

Attendees can drop in any time during the two-hour window to participate at their convenience.

The Northeast Neighborhood Update will help guide decisions on future development, infrastructure improvements, housing, transportation, economic development, and neighborhood enhancements over the next 15 years as part of the broader Plymouth Forward 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

For those unable to attend the meeting, the city is also accepting input through an online survey available on the city website at https://urldefense.com/.../SV_8cYKf091Qd1lbBI...

The survey deadline is noon on February 26.

"Community input gathered during this session and through the digital survey will help shape recommendations that reflect the needs, goals, and vision of those who live and work in the neighborhood," city officials said.

City planners are encouraging residents, property owners, and business operators in the Northeast Neighborhood to participate, though anyone interested in the area's future is welcome to attend.

The event is free and open to the public.
