Plymouth Police arrest four on outstanding warrants

Plymouth Police Department officers arrested four individuals last Thursday, all on outstanding warrants from various counties.

The first arrest took place Thursday morning around 9:15 a.m. when Plymouth Police were notified that Donald K. Allen, 63, of Plymouth, was at Marshall County Probation and had an active warrant from another county. Allen was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was held on the warrant.

Later that morning, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Patrolman Thornton initiated a traffic stop on a moped that was not displaying a license plate. During the stop, Thornton discovered that the operator, Richard L. Moses, 55, of Walkerton, had an active warrant through Fulton County. Moses was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was held for the outside agency.

Thursday afternoon brought another warrant arrest when Patrolman Thornton was flagged down by a male near the intersection of Garro and Michigan Streets. The officer recognized the male as 26-year-old Elyin Antonio Castillo Garcia of Knox from a previous encounter.  The officer was aware of an active warrant for his arrest, so Castillo Garcia was transported to the Marshall County Jail on the warrant.

The final arrest occurred around 6 p.m. Thursday when Patrolman Thornton conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle. The vehicle pulled into the Aldi parking lot, and after speaking with the driver, Martin John Noble III of Hamlet, Thornton determined Noble had an active warrant for his arrest. Noble was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on the warrant.

All four individuals remained in custody at the Marshall County Jail on their respective warrants.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
