The Plymouth Plan Commission voted unanimously Tuesday evening to approve a request creating a 2-lot subdivision at the southeast corner of Muckshaw and 12th Roads.
The request, presented by property owner Beth Mengel, would divide a 75-acre lot into one lot of 13.25 acres with the existing home and a second lot of 61.85 agricultural acres in a rural residential zone.
City Attorney Jeff Houin, filling in for Plan Director Ty Adley, told the commission that based on the Minor Subdivision Plan and review by the Technical Review Committee, staff recommended approval of the proposed subdivision as meeting the intent of the Subdivision Ordinance and other associated requirements.
During the public hearing, one letter was read from Thomas and Sharon Selmer, who voiced no objection to the proposed minor subdivision.
The Plymouth Plan Commission voted 10-0 to approve the request.

In other business, Plan Commission President Doug Feese raised a question about an off-site sign for Rips at the corner of West Jefferson and Fifth Streets.
Plymouth Building Commissioner Dennis Manuwal said the sign appeared without any approval and that he was looking into the issue. Feese noted that the board has denied off-site signage for other businesses.
Manuwal said he will continue looking into the matter.
