A Plymouth man is behind bars this week on a $50,000 cash bond after allegedly violating a protective order and battering his ex-girlfriend on multiple occasions.
Nathan Silvia, 41, was arrested earlier this week by a Marshall County Sheriff's Department officer on a warrant issued by the Plymouth Police Department. Superior Court I Judge Tami Napier set the $50,000 cash bond.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the case stems from a series of incidents involving Silvia and his ex-girlfriend. On June 7, Silvia allegedly entered the victim's residence through an unlocked door and battered her. Three days later, on June 10, at approximately 8:31 p.m., Silvia returned to the residence in the 400 block of Webster Avenue, knocked on the door, and when the victim refused to let him in, he pulled a window air conditioner out of the window. When Officer Miller with the Plymouth Police Department arrived following a 911 call, Silvia had fled the area on foot or by bicycle.
Investigators determined that an INCITE Protective Order had been served on Silvia on April 21, stemming from a prior incident. The victim provided officers with numerous text messages from Silvia and photographs documenting the June 7 incident. The case was reviewed by the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office, and an arrest warrant was issued on June 30.
Silvia was booked into the Marshall County Jail on one count of burglary, one count of domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, and one count of invasion of privacy.
Readers are reminded that criminal charges are merely allegations. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
