Plymouth man arrested for public intoxication following 911 Call

A 56-year-old Plymouth man was arrested on Friday after a concerned citizen called 911 to report someone struggling to walk on the city’s south side.

At approximately 1:30 on Friday, April 10, Patrolman Thornton of the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to the area of South Michigan Street and Dickson Street. The caller reported that a male subject had fallen, was having difficulty walking, and appeared to be intoxicated.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officer located the man and identified him as Chadwick Jeremy Anthony, a resident of Clark Street in Plymouth. While speaking with Anthony, the officer determined that he was under the influence of alcohol.

Anthony was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of public intoxication.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. Suspects are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
