A Plymouth man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop revealed he was driving without a license and had five active arrest warrants.

Officer Mark of the Plymouth Police Department observed a passenger vehicle swerve out of its lane of travel, nearly causing an accident on Tuesday, November 25th. A traffic stop was initiated at approximately 3:11 p.m. at the intersection of Michigan Street and North Street.

The driver was identified as 23-year-old Jonathan Calvillo, of North Michigan Street in Plymouth. Further investigation revealed Calvillo had never received a driver's license and was wanted on five active arrest warrants for failure to appear.

Calvillo was transported to the Marshall County Jail without incident. He was issued a court date and held on a $100 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
