Plymouth Fire Department truck raffle extended to October 25; proceeds benefit Project Fire Buddies

The Plymouth Fire Department is urging the community to keep buying truck raffle tickets after falling short of its goal to draw the winner during the Blueberry Festival.

Firefighters had hoped to sell enough tickets throughout the festival to hold the drawing on the final evening. Unfortunately, the department fell short of that goal and, after discussing it as a group, has decided to postpone the drawing.

If all remaining tickets are sold before October 25, the department will make an announcement and move the drawing date up. Otherwise, the winner will be drawn on October 25 — the date of the Project Fire Buddies Indiana Casino Royale, a gala-style event where proceeds benefit Project Fire Buddies chapters across Indiana.

"We will draw the winner no matter what on October 25," the department said.

All proceeds from the raffle go directly to Project Fire Buddies, a nonprofit organization that provides joy, hope, and support to terminally ill children. The Plymouth Fire Department has started a local chapter made up of its own firefighters, serving children in the City of Plymouth, Center Township, and West Township.

Through Project Fire Buddies, firefighters are able to deliver gifts to children in their fire trucks, help send families on vacations, and provide needed medical equipment and other support to help make their lives a little brighter during an incredibly difficult time.

"This raffle is about much more than winning a truck — it is about making a difference in the lives of local children and their families," the department said.

Tickets are $20 each and are available from any Plymouth career or volunteer firefighter, at Oliver Ford, or by stopping by the Plymouth Fire Station.

The department expressed deep gratitude to everyone who has already purchased tickets.

"Your kindness, generosity, and support are truly humbling, and we cannot thank you enough," the department said. "Thank you again for supporting the Plymouth Fire Department and Project Fire Buddies!"
