Plymouth Community Schools names Dr. Pamela Campbell as new Superintendent

The Plymouth Community School Corporation has a new superintendent. Dr. Pamela Campbell was officially appointed Monday evening, June 15^th, to lead the district and will step into the role on July 1st, bringing with her more than a decade of experience running a public school district and a record of turning around finances, expanding student programs, and passing major facility investments.

Campbell comes to Plymouth most recently from Covenant Christian School and Bethel University, where she served as Vice President of Finance and Administration and oversaw significant campus improvement projects — including renovations to freshman residence halls and updates to multiple student housing facilities.

Before her time in higher education, Campbell spent 11 years as Superintendent of the Columbia School District in Michigan, where she built a track record that will likely resonate with Plymouth families and school board members alike. During her tenure there, she led the successful passage of a $30.6 million bond initiative that funded sweeping facility renovations and improvements throughout the district.

Campbell also restructured the district's budget development process from the ground up, eliminating a negative fund balance and restoring long-term financial stability. She launched a comprehensive communications program, expanded summer learning opportunities focused on remediation, acceleration, STEM education, leadership development, and enrichment, and oversaw 31 At-Risk and Title-funded programs. She also spearheaded innovative school improvement practices aimed at boosting student achievement and organizational effectiveness.

Campbell holds three degrees from Michigan State University: a Bachelor of Science in General Science Secondary Education, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration. She also earned a Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University.

Her professional involvement extends well beyond the classroom. Campbell is the past president of MASA Region 8 and previously served on the MASA Professional Growth and Leadership Committee. Her community service record includes work with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Brooklyn Food Pantry Board, and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. She has also served as past president of both the Jonesville Rotary Club and the Brooklyn Area Kiwanis Club, and formerly chaired the Tekonsha Chamber of Commerce.

Campbell expressed enthusiasm for joining the Plymouth school community. Campbell officially takes over as superintendent on July 1, 2026.
