Lawrence Unit #20 Superintendent Doug Daugherty now say that school will begin next week for students at Parkside Elementary School in Lawrenceville.
The beginning of the school term there had been delayed due to the discovery of mold inside the building after summer work. It was scheduled to open on Wednesday, August 12th, but was pushed back to allow for extensive cleaning and air testing in the building.
It was again expected to open on Friday, August 21st, but one of the interior rooms failed its air testing and had to undergo more cleaning. On Friday, August 21st, the building was again inspected and tested to ensure the safety of students and staff and was deemed safe and ready for occupancy next week.
Meet the Teacher afternoon will be Monday, August 24th from 4:30 till 5:30 p.m. with the first day of school set for Tuesday, August 25th.
