Justin Parker has announced his campaign for Shelby County Sheriff.
Parker will be on the Republican ballot for the upcoming May primary election.
Parker is a life-long resident of Shelby County. He began his public service career while still in high school as a cadet on the volunteer fire department. After graduating from Southwestern Consolidated High School in 1999 he went on to attend Vincennes University.
Parker began working for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in 2001. Currently, he is a member of the Swift Water Rescue Team, Shelby County Hotage / Crisis Negotiations Team and the Crisis Intervention Team. On his days off, Parker also serves as a school resource officer.
Outside of his career, Parker is a father of two teenage daughters and is involved in the family farm in southern Shelby County. He also serves on the Shelby County Fair Board and attends Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where he previously served as deacon.
Parker states he is ready to put his years of experience and dedication into leading the Sheriff’s Department as the newt Shelby County Sheriff.
