Prepare to head back into the deep freeze for a while this weekend.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has implemented a Freeze Warning for early Saturday across the entire GIANT-FM WAKO listening area in southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana.
It is effective from 1 a.m. CDT until 9 a.m. CDT.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid to upper 20s during that time period. Frost and freeze conditions could kill outside crops, plants and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
