Fountaintown Fire was first to the scene of a successful grain bin rescue Wednesday.
Just after 3 p.m., Fountaintown Fire Department was dispatched to the scene. They were notified that the patient was conscious and alert, but unable to free legs from the grain entrapment. About a half-hour later, the grain rescue tube was placed and grain was being removed. and by just after 4 p.m., the patient was extricated from the grain bin unharmed.

The fire department stated in a social media post that it was a great example of training for different situations, as firefighters were able to put to use the skills they just trained on the previous weekend.
Greenfield Fire Territory, Sugar Creek Township Fire Department, Morristown Volunteer Fire Department and the Shelbyville Fire Department provided mutual aid.
