A new hanger project is moving closer to getting underway at the Mid-American Air Center located northeast of Lawrenceville.
The Bi-State Authority Board of Directors has approved an electrical lighting upgrade for the new facility with groundbreaking to be announced soon. No firm date has been given for the arrival of the new hanger to be constructed but it is anticipated that it will begin this winter with completion in the spring. Airport manager Devin Hill added that pavement work to get runway access from the new hanger will also take place in the spring.
The Board also took time to discuss the hanger rental agreements and prices for renting those hangers.
