Officers from the Plymouth Police Department investigated a hit-and-run accident that occurred at 500 W Jefferson on Monday, October 20th, just before 5 p.m.
The hit and run was reported at 500 West Jefferson Street. A maroon Ford F150 backed into a parked black Honda SUV and left the scene. Video footage of the incident was obtained, and the driver and the suspect vehicle were identified.
City police officers searched the area and located the maroon truck. A traffic stop was then conducted. During the investigation, it was determined that 43-year-old Roberto Navejar of W Harrison Street in Plymouth was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and cited for driving while suspended.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
