A Muncie man was arrested Monday afternoon after a traffic stop on U.S. 31 revealed he was driving on a suspended license.

According to the Plymouth Police Department, Patrolman Thornton initiated the traffic stop Monday, September 14, after a vehicle failed to maintain its lane while traveling on U.S. 31 at 9 A Road.

During the stop, the officer discovered that the driver, Elijah Jose Sanders, 24, of Muncie, had a license status of Suspended-Prior. Sanders was transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail, where he was charged with driving while suspended-prior.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
