Miller's Senior Living Community is inviting the public to lace up their walking shoes for a good cause this summer, hosting its annual Walk-A-Thon for Alzheimer's and Dementia Awareness on Saturday, August 15, at the Young Amphitheater in Centennial Park.
Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., with the walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. Participants will walk along the Greenway Trail in a show of support for those living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. All proceeds from the event will benefit Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana.
Registration is $30 per person or $125 for a team of five. Those who register by July 17 will receive a commemorative event t-shirt — making the early deadline just five days away.
In addition to the walk, event sponsors will host informational booths offering resources, education, and support for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's and dementia, as well as other community services.
Whether participants walk in honor of a loved one, in memory of someone special, or simply to support a meaningful cause, organizers say every registration helps raise awareness and make a tangible difference for local families navigating the challenges of Alzheimer's and dementia.
To register or request a registration form, contact Anna Corbett at Miller's Senior Living Community at 574-936-9801.
