A Michigan woman was arrested Wednesday morning after deputies investigated a report of a suspicious person on the property of the Blissville Church in Marshall County.
On Wednesday, August 19th, at approximately 11:48 a.m., Deputy Geiger with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department investigated a suspicious person at the intersection of Plymouth Laporte Trail and Spruce Trail, where the Blissville Church is located. Deputies located 39-year-old Ashley M. Carabajal of Nashville, Michigan.
During the investigation, Carabajal was found to have marijuana and prescription pills. She was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail for processing.
Carabajal was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a legend drug. She was given a court date and held on a $500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
