Marshall Starke Development Center in Plymouth has launched a Second Chance Furniture Pantry to help individuals and families working toward stability rebuild their lives with essential furniture and household items.
The program is currently accepting donations of gently used furniture and household goods. Items being accepted include:
- Bedframes and headboards
- Mattresses (new or gently used, must be stain-free and odor-free)
- Dressers and chests of drawers
- Nightstands
- Dining tables and chairs
- Sofas and loveseats
- Lamps
- Small working appliances: microwaves, toasters, coffee pots
- Cookware and dish sets
- Large appliances, including refrigerators, washers, gas dryers, and gas stoves
Drop-off hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 1901 Pidco Drive in Plymouth. Pick-up service is available for a $15 fee by calling 574-936-9400 to schedule.
Individuals and families in need must obtain a voucher from one of the program's partnering organizations to select items from the pantry. The voucher details which items are available for selection. Partnering agencies are:
