This Saturday, July 4th, the nation marks a historic milestone — the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence — and Marshall County is ready to celebrate in style.

The Marshall County America 250 Committee is inviting everyone to line South Michigan Street on Saturday morning for the Marshall County America 250 Parade. Parade participants will begin lining up at 9:30 a.m. at the north entrance of New Oakhill Cemetery, with the procession stepping off at 10:00 a.m. The parade will travel north on South Michigan Street to LaPorte Street, then head east to River Park Square in the heart of downtown Plymouth.

The America 250 Committee is asking the entire community to get involved in the celebration, not just attend the parade. Residents are encouraged to decorate their porches, and businesses are invited to deck out their storefronts in patriotic fashion. And for homeowners throughout Marshall County, the Committee has a simple but meaningful request — fly your American flag on the Fourth of July.

It's a fitting way to honor 250 years of American independence. See you on South Michigan Street Saturday morning!
