A man wanted for child molestation in Putnam County has been apprehended in Oklahoma.
Thomas McCoy of Terre Haute was located in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, near the Texas border. The Elk City Police Department had posted on social media that it was on the lookout for McCoy after he was seen using ATM’s at local grocery stores.
The Elk City Police Facebook post informed the public that McCoy was known to frequent campgrounds and may be attempting to lay low in or near such locations.
McCoy’s vehicle was reportedly seen in Illinois and Missouri before the Oklahoma arrest.
The Level 4 felony charges stem from what was said by a 12-year-old during a therapy session then reported to police.
Court documents indicate that used condoms were found in a trash dumpster that matches the story told by the child that condoms were used.
