Vincennes city officials have informed GIANT fm News that an emergency no parking zone has been issued for Second Street from Vigo to Willow Streets starting Wednesday, April 30.
The order was put in place to allow for the movement of large farming equipment coming into the city from south of Vigo Street.
Several routes in the city have been closed to traffic by ongoing Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) repair projects and the move was made to help expedite the large farm traffic through.
It is anticipated that due to the length of some of the INDOT projects, the no parking order could possibly remain in effect until the end of May.
Motorists are asked to be alert and use caution when traveling in that area, especially near Vincennes Rivet Junior/Senior High School.
