Upgrading its buildings and parking areas are among the goals of a facilities improvement study being done for the Lawrence County Unit #20 Board of Education.
The board met in regular monthly session at Lawrenceville High School (LHS) and received an update on an evaluation being done by OPTERRA Energy Services, a Chicago based firm specializing in infrastructure modernization and energy efficiency solutions. The study centered on areas such as the heating and air conditioning at Parkside Elementary School, replacement of interior and exterior doors at both Parkview Junior High and Lawrenceville High School and improvements to the auto repair and welding shops at LHS, along with other various projects.
Representatives of OPTERRA will continue to consult and work with the board's Building and Grounds committee on prioritizing projects in the coming days and will make a recommendation to the full board as to a course of action.
