The Lawrence Public Library Board now has a new Fiscal Year 2027 budget in place.

They met on Tuesday, September 15th at the library located at 814 12th Street in downtown Lawrenceville and unanimously approved the budget for the operation of the library district and also an ordinance to adopt the spending plan and enact an appropriation ordinance governing spending. The proposed budget was preliminarily approved in August and was available for public inspection for 30 days. The board did hold a public hearing prior to the meeting but received no comment.

Head Librarian and Library Director Diane Brumley reported that there were 10 applicants for the vacant assistant librarian position. After conducting interviews, it was decided to hire two part-time people to fill the job, and they are now undergoing on-the-job training.
