The National Weather Service is warning of the dangers of fire.

Continued dry conditions around the region have led to a number of fire incidents including in Lawrence County.

Units of the Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District along with other agencies were mobilized to a structure fire Friday in Russellville.

An outdoor trash fire fanned by high winds spread to a residential shed and destroyed the building.

Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to a nearby garage and mobile home.

The Vincennes Township Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The Christy Fire Protection District dealt with a fence row fire at a location along Illinois Route 250 with no appreciable damage.

The situation will ease with substantial rain in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.
