Recent response to the recent winter storms and fire department expansion were topics discussed by local officials at the initial 2025 meeting this week of the Lawrence County emergency planning committee.
The session was held at the Lawrenceville Armory.
Most officials on hand praised the snow removal responses around the county.
It was reported that the Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District is undertaking expansion with the addition of onsite living quarters for firefighters who are on duty.
Also discussed was the formation of a plan to help transport emergency hospital and health department personnel from outlying areas to their facilities during times of inclement weather.
The subject of having updated incident command and civilian volunteer training is also being investigated
