A Knox man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly jumping in and out of traffic while removing his clothing and then resisting law enforcement officers.

Plymouth Police units were dispatched to the area of Jefferson and Beerebrook Streets at 8:54 a.m. on February 7th following reports of a male behaving erratically in traffic.

Officer Krynock located Elyin Antonio Castillo-Garcia, 26, of Knox. According to the police report, Castillo-Garcia charged at officers and attempted to strike them during the encounter.

Castillo-Garcia was taken into custody and transported for medical clearance before being lodged at the Marshall County Jail.  He was charged with obstruction of traffic, two counts of resisting law enforcement, one for causing bodily injury, and disorderly conduct.

Castillo-Garcia is being held on a $1,500 cash bond and has been issued a court date of March 10.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. Those charged are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
