Multiple arrests were made on drug charges after a traffic stop by Indiana State Police.
An ISP trooper was patrolling in Vincennes when he stopped the driver of a 2013 Dodge Dart for driving down the middle of the roadway on 15th Street near Main Street. As the trooper was approaching the vehicle he observed three additional people inside. The driver was identified as Mariah D. Lewis, 30, of Vincennes. She had an active warrant for child neglect out of Knox County.
The front seat passenger was identified as Bryce Cummings, 29, of Vincennes.
Two female rear passengers were identified as Kandace Hawkins, 33, and Sarah Liddle, 26, both from Vincennes.
Due to suspicious circumstances, the driver and all three passengers were removed from the vehicle. A Knox County Sheriff’s deputy and his K-9 arrived to assist. While walking around the vehicle, the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics. During a search, troopers located over 20 grams of suspected heroin, over 240 syringes, more than 50 glass smoking pipes, a small amount of methamphetamine, and over $1,200 in U.S. currency.
All four subjects were arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail where they are currently being held on bond.
This is an on-going investigation.
