Jacar Holdings recently applied for a Commercial Revitalization Rebate Program Grant during the Plymouth Common Council meeting.
Steve Carter told members this request is for a new roof at 118 West LaPorte Street, the Got Game building.
About 3 years ago Carter approached the city for the same grant but ended up just doing a patch job. This time the project is a complete tear-off and total roof replacement.
Three quotes were presented ranging from $55,900 on the high end to $53,850 on the low end. A & M Home Services from Plymouth.
The Common Council approved the grant request at 20% meaning Carter will be reimbursed $10,770 for the work.
The council reminded the new members that these funds are not tax dollars. The funds only come from the interest earned on a special account created about 40 years ago.
