Indiana State Police Sergeant Detective Troy Stanton of the Special Investigation, Organized Crime and Corruption Division, initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information that Pamela J. Girton, 59, of Indianola, Illinois, had allegedly stolen funds for self-gain in the amount of $110,000.00, from an individual that she was once a caretaker for.
After reviewing the investigation, the Vermillion County Prosecutor’s Office requested and was granted a warrant for Girton from the Circuit Court of Vermillion County. Girton was arrested by the Vermillion County Sheriff's Office, without incident, and is currently being held in the Vermillion County Jail without bond.
Girton is charged with Theft with Value of property greater than $50,000.00, a Level 5 felony, and Exploitation of an Endangered Adult, Class A Misdemeanor.
