Indiana Conservation Voters launches statewide media campaign opposing mid-decade redistricting

Indiana Conservation Voters (ICV) today announced a new statewide media campaign urging Hoosiers to tell their lawmakers to continue rejecting a mid-decade redistricting push being fueled by pressure from Washington outsiders.

Vice President J.D. Vance visited the state for a second time last week to pressure lawmakers and Indiana Gov. Mike Braun to redraw the state’s Congressional maps, which were drawn four years ago and have never been challenged in court. 

The media buy—which includes digital, radio and OTT streaming platforms—urges state leaders to keep standing strong against redrawing the maps mid-cycle. The Washington pressure campaign began more than two months ago in early August. Multiple polls have found opposition to mid-decade redistricting; Hoosiers want state lawmakers focused on bottom line issues like inflation, property taxes and skyrocketing utility bills. 

“Hoosiers aren’t asking for this. Washington outsiders just won’t take ‘no’ for an answer,” said ICV executive director Megan Robertson. “They want us to cheat, and we’re not cheaters. Indiana lawmakers should be commended for resisting the pressure campaign. We hope they’ll stay focused on lowering costs and improving quality of life instead of embracing this political nonsense.”
