The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has recovered a large amount of stolen copper and aluminum wiring believed to be connected to recent thefts from Bechtel.
The stolen items are valued at over $320,000.
During the investigation, deputies located a suspect truck and trailer near County Road 550 East and 200 South near Knox, and obtained a search warrant for the associated property. While conducting surveillance, the vehicle left the property and deputies conducted a traffic stop, detaining two individuals. One has been identified as Michael Nicholas Watson, age 36.
Officers later executed the search warrant and located large quantities of copper and aluminum wiring in various conditions, consistent with theft-related activity. The materials were seized as evidence and are believed to be linked to multiple incidents.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Indiana State Police – Lowell Post, Starke County Sheriff’s Department and John’s Garage of Wanatah.
