Humes arrested after racing on U.S. 30

City Police arrested a Plymouth man after he heard and observe two vehicles doing a burnout and began to race down U.S. 30 Saturday morning May 4th.

Just after 3 a.m., Corporal Schieber with the Plymouth Police Department was able to catch up to the vehicles as they turned south onto Oak Drive. A traffic stop was initiated on both vehicles near Markley and Oak Drive.

City officers identified one driver as 22-year-old Anthony Humes. Humes was impaired and taken into custody. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated endangering.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
