The Red Hill Unit 10 school district is facing a substantial increase in health insurance rates in the future.
Superintendent Jakie Walker report to the board of education Thursday that the rise is due to increased loss ratios by schools in the Egyptian Trust which includes Unit 10.
This has led to an inability to pay claims and increases to all districts involved in order to remain solvent by the trust.
Red Hill has been assessed a payment of over $162,000 to remain.
This will most likely lead to premium increases for district personnel if they continue membership.
