Heartland Art Center announces call for artists for 38TH Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibit

Heartland Art Center is inviting artists to submit their work to the 38th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibit, on view September 29 through October 30, 2026, at the Plymouth Historic Fire Station, 220 N. Center St.

For nearly four decades, the juried exhibit has showcased the immense talent of the regional art scene, drawing contemporary artists from across northern Indiana and beyond. The tradition reflects Heartland's ongoing commitment to providing Midwestern artists with meaningful opportunities to exhibit, sell, and be recognized for their work.

The exhibit is open to artists working in all media. Each entry must be the artist's original concept and work, completed within the last two years. The show features cash prizes and Purchase Awards, with works judged by William and Julie Tourtillotte — accomplished artists and educators affiliated with Indiana University South Bend and Saint Mary's College, respectively.

Entries are open now through Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The entry fee is $25 per piece, and artists may submit up to five works. The full prospectus and online entry form are available through Heartland Art Center.

Art lovers and local businesses are invited to take part in the exhibit as Purchase Award Providers, a program that directly supports the careers of regional artists. Providers receive exclusive early access to view the show before it opens to the public and a 15% discount on artwork purchases — all while adding original regional art to their homes, offices, and collections. The exhibit will conclude with a closing reception and awards ceremony on Friday, October 30, from 6 to 8 p.m., with awards announced at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

While Heartland Art Center's historic building undergoes a once-in-a-generation renovation, gallery programming continues at the Plymouth Historic Fire Station, 220 N. Center St. — Plymouth, Indiana's oldest standing fire station.
