The Vincennes Board of Public Works and Safety has voted to move forward with construction of a new fire department training facility.
Upon recommendation of City Engineer John Sprague, they accepted the low bids from Wabash Utilities and Mann Excavating for the approximately $750,000 project.
It will be built in southern Vincennes and funded by the state of Indiana for use of firefighting personnel.
Other similar facilities have been built at various Indiana locations.
A firm start date for construction has not yet been determined.
