Add “good sports” to the attributes of the 2024 Shelby County Fair Queen and her Court.
Following the Shelby County Royal competition Wednesday at the Youth Livestock Pavilion at the Shelby County Fairgrounds, the four young ladies that make up the Fair Court sat down in the middle of the pavilion and took pies to the face in a fundraising effort dubbed “Pie a Queen.”

For a $3 donation to improvements at the livestock pavilion, participants could pie any member of the fair court – fair queen Karlie Lawson, first runner-up Ellie Gosser (photo above), second runner-up Oakleigh Goedde and Miss Congeniality Destiney Johnson.

With crowns removed and clothing protected, the queen and her court took on one and all for a good cause.

The fundraising event raised $155.
