The National Weather Service (NWS) has discontinued the Flood Warning for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville.
Late Wednesday morning, the river rose to its 30-foot flood stage and then crested. It then began a slow fall and was measured at 29.24 feet early Thursday morning.
The river had been above flood for a few days this week due to extensive rainfall locally and in the upper river basin in central Illinois.
Some minor lowland flooding occurred along the river but was not as bad as the high-water levels earlier this spring.
