At approximately 4 a.m. Sunday, November 10th Plymouth Police were dispatched to the area of Pioneer Drive and U.S. 30 for a vehicle sitting in the roadway with its headlights on.
Officers arrived in the area and Sergeant Taberski made contact with the driver, Jason R. Northam, 39, of Plymouth. After an investigation, it was discovered that Northam was under the influence of alcohol. He was found to have a Blood Alcohol Content of .219.
Northam was transported to the Marshall County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more and held on a cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
