It was a successful home debut Tuesday for the Lawrenceville cross country Indians as they won both the boys and girls meet held at the three mile City Park course in Lawrenceville.
The Lady Indians were the only team in the girls race and they took the top five spots in scoring 15 points for the win. They were led by Finley Hering who won the race in a time of 22:01.15. Lexi Brooke was second in 22:04.90, Laurel Buchanon third in 23:22.28, Ellie Buchanon fourth in 23:32.09 and Elia Stoltz fifth in 25:59.97.
The Indian boys won with 24 points, followed by Clay City with 55, Mt Carmel with 66 and Oblong with 68. They took four of the top five spots in the race with Braydan Morrison winning in a time of 17:25.31. Walter Eberwine was second in 18:06.41, Aiden Crawford third in 18:26.84 and Daniel Kiser fifth in 19:10.15.
The next action for the Tribe is the First to Finish Invitational to be run Saturday in Peoria, Illinois.
