On Monday, December 23, at approximately 4:50 p.m., the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call regarding a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 30, east of State Road 331.
When officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene, it was determined that a collision occurred between a passenger car and a semi-tractor trailer. Officers investigated the crash and found that a westbound 2003 Ford Escort driven by Anthony Clemons Jr, 41, of Fort Wayne, lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. The Ford Escort proceeded through the grass median where it was struck by an eastbound 2007 Kenworth driven by Victor Sotomayor, 45, of Chicago Heights, Illinois. The collision brought both vehicles into the center median. The two occupants in the Ford Escort were transported to Memorial Hospital with numerous complaints of pain. The driver of the Kenworth semi was uninjured.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Bourbon Police Department, Bourbon Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, and Reichert-Knepp Towing.
