Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Bremen Police Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on Saturday, April 26th, at 3:17 p.m.
Police Officers and Bremen EMS and Fire responded to the accident on Plymouth-Goshen Trail near Miami Trail. The vehicle had struck a utility pole.
During the crash investigation, it was discovered that the driver, Jose Abarca, 25, of Elkhart, was exhibiting signs of alcohol intoxication. He also had active warrants through another county in Indiana.
Jose Abarca was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a prior, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, endangering. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond
