Sealed bids were opened Monday during the County Commissioner’s meeting for two lots of tractor parts no longer needed at the Marshall County Highway Department.
The Commissioners opened three bids for the two different lots of parts. The first lot was Tiger mower parts and included a couple of blade dishes, blades and bolts, a couple of chain drives, cable pulleys, drive sprockets, a deck hose, and more. In total there were about 3 dozen items.
The second lot was John Deere 6405 tractor parts and included an oil filter, two cab air filters, an alternator, fuel filter, fan belt, and more. In total there were 9 items.
There were two bidders for the Tiger mower parts. Clint Pontius bid $206 and S&M Contractors, the company that has been hired to do the county mowing bid $1,800. S&M Contractors also bid $200 on the John Deere parts.
The bids were referred to Highway Superintendent Jason Peters who wasn’t present at the meeting. He will bring a recommendation to the commissioners at their next April 3rd meeting.
