Just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 25th, Marshall County Deputies responded to a personal injury accident on State Road 117 south of 20th Road.
During the investigation, county officers discovered the driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Meghan Tynan of Chicago, to be exhibiting signs of intoxication. Ms. Tynan was transported to and booked into the Marshall County Jail at 12:30 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15% or more and operating a vehicle endangering. Her $500 cash bond was paid at 9:43 a.m. Sunday and she was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
