This Friday is a special Date Night feature: “Nosotros los Probres.” This 1948 Mexican melodrama stars Pedro Infante, Evita Munoz, and Blanca Estela Pavón.
Translated as “We, the Poor,” Infante stars as a carpenter who is falsely accused of robbery and how he and his family must work to prove his innocence. This movie will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. Tickets are $5 each. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m.
VEO will take the stage Saturday night for a special concert. Based in Fort Wayne, VEO and her country/rock band will play a range of songs highlighting her many musical influences. The band members met at Purdue University Fort Wayne, and they have recently signed with Gold Top Records. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $30 for balcony seating. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
The Family Movie Matinee at 2 p.m., Sunday, is “Strange World.” This 2022 Disney animated film introduces viewers to three generations of the legendary Clade family as they attempt to band together and navigate uncharted, treacherous land beneath their world. The voice cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu. Adult tickets are $5 and children 12 and younger are free with an accompanying adult.
