The Bridgeport City Council is now at full strength with the filling of a vacancy in Ward1.

Paul "Wag" Crouch was unanimously approved as the appointment of Mayor Tyler Griffin to fill the seat left by John Perrott, who resigned after moving out of his represented area of Ward 1. He was formally sworn in and will fill the unexpired term of Perrott until the municipal election in May of 2027.

In other business, the council approved the 2025-26 tax levy ordinance.

They also approved City Clerk Jessica Zellars changing internet service providers for City Hall after experiencing problem with getting service for the current system which has led to problems in conducting city business.

Applications are still being taken to fill a vacancy on the city police force. Those wishing to apply can contact City Hall during regular business hours.
