Beginning next Monday, March 13th, the Town of Bourbon will begin the process of taking down the replica old train station pergola which was constructed in 1999 outside of the Bourbon Town Offices.
Town Council President Ward Byers said, “This demolition is necessary as the support beams of the structure have excessive rot which has destabilized the structure causing a safety concern. Currently, the structure is leaning against the Town Office building creating a safety hazard to pedestrians, vehicle traffic, and the office building itself.”
During the demolition process, Park Avenue will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from Main Street to Washington Street.
The Bourbon Clerk-Treasurer’s Office will also be closed on Monday, March 13.
