An 18-year-old Argos man was arrested on domestic battery charges Sunday afternoon following a reported physical altercation at a Plymouth residence.
According to the Plymouth Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Michigan Street at approximately 1:05 p.m. on April 19th in response to a reported physical domestic situation.
Upon arrival, Officer Wallace located both parties involved and initiated an investigation into the incident. Police determined that 18-year-old Kody Thielmann, of West Marshall Street in Argos, had allegedly committed domestic battery against his girlfriend during an argument.
Thielmann was taken into custody without incident at the scene and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was officially charged with domestic battery and is currently being held on a $500 cash bond.
Thielmann has been assigned an upcoming court date in Marshall Superior Court II to face the charges.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
