A 55-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges following an altercation where he allegedly fired a gun inside of a Rochester residence.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Apolonio Corral Jr, 55, of Warsaw, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Serious Violent Felon, a Level 4 Felony; Criminal Recklessness-Shooting a Firearm into an inhabited dwelling, a Level 5 Felony; Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun, a Level 5 Felony; and Neglect of a Dependent, a Level 6 Felony.
Court documents state that on Sept. 28, Fulton County Dispatch received a 911 call advising a man, identified by the caller as Corral, had shot a gun inside their home in the 500 block of E. 4th St. in Rochester. Corral was stopped by police as he left the scene as a passenger of a silver minivan. Police discovered the gun used during the altercation under a seat in the minivan.
Officers reported the resident at the home explained to them Corral had been fighting with another man in the home prior to the shooting. At the time of the shooting there had been four adults inside the home.
When speaking with police, Corral allegedly confessed that when he gets out of prison from this incident that he intended to come back and kill the man, further bragging he was a member of the Latin Kings gang and would possibly make some calls to have someone else kill the man for him.
Corral continued the threats by also telling police that he knew they would be called after he murdered the man and that he planned to go out in a "blaze of glory."
Corral was arrested and booked at the Fulton County Detention Center. Corral was in Fulton County Circuit Court Wednesday, and a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Nov. 25.
